Lady Beards

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my experience with laser hair removal real quick: I was sleeved on July 28th, 2015 and I'm down almost 70 lbs now. I had my first laser hair treatment in the beginning of December. It freaking HURT so much! I had horrrrrible bumpiness and bruising of the face (I just had my chin part done) and feeling the many many hair follicles burning away was intense. For two weeks my chin was a sea of whiteheads and angry skin. Just for context, I have terminal hair growth and basically a full beard. I did electrolysis like 4 years ago, 1 hour a week for an ENTIRE year and almost all of it grew back. I was so frustrated! But I figured, maybe, with the weight loss and other improvements with my VSG surgery, maybe I could finally bring my facial hair under control.

So, here's my update: After two weeks of gross, my skin cleared up and a bunch of hairs pushed through and fell out. I only had 5 visible hairs left!! I can't believe it! It's almost ALL gone! I had my second treatment yesterday and the pain was NOTHING compared to the first time. I could still feel tons of follicles sizzling away but it wasn't anywhere near as painful, even though they actually turned the laser intensity up. I went ahead and started it on my neck too because I have a bunch of hair there as well (ladybeard, hawt.) That also was nowhere near as painful as my chin's first time was. I also have no bumps as of today, only very slight tenderness of the skin itself. More hairs are pushing through and soon they too will fall out.

I'm sharing this because I was so so so discouraged after my dismal failure with electrolysis. I pretty much gave up on facial hair removal and shaved 1-2x a day for the last 10 years. Now, to finally have relief, to finally reach a point where it's not even really noticeable if I don't shave for a day, it makes me want to cry with joy. Just wanted to let others out there know my experience. I know laser doesn't work for everyone but for me, light fair skin and terminal black hair growth, it really is working!!

Update: NO HAIR!

I am now in May and I've added my neck and upper lip. I've been blown away by the results. Going from shaving once, sometimes twice a day, to never having to think about it, IS BLOWING MY MIND. I feel more confident, sexy, and feminine than I have in a long time. So worth it. Every penny.
